Answers to common questions about your account, the GICITC app, attendance and course materials. If you do not find the answer, send us a message and the department will reply by email.

How to

  • Sign in for the first time: use the email address and the initial password you received from the department, then choose your own password (at least 8 characters).
  • Use the app: install the GICITC app on your phone and sign in with the same account as on the website. The first phone you sign in on becomes your phone for attendance.
  • Check in to class: when your teacher starts attendance, open the app, tap Check in and scan the QR code shown in the classroom.
  • Find your course materials: open Courses, choose the course, then the chapter.

Frequently asked questions

Account and password

Students do not register themselves: the department creates the accounts from the official class lists at the start of the year and gives each student an email address and an initial password. Teachers and staff receive their account from the administrator. If you have no account, ask your class coordinator.

On the website, sign in and open My profile > Change password (/account/password). In the app, open your profile and choose Change password. The first time you sign in with an initial password, you must choose your own password before you can continue. Use at least 8 characters and avoid easy passwords.

On the sign-in page, choose Forgot your password? and enter your email address: you receive a link to choose a new password. If you do not receive the email, the administrator can reset your password; send us a message.

Open My profile to correct your name in Latin and Khmer script and to choose Khmer or English. You can also switch the language at any time with the ខ្មែរ / EN buttons at the top of every page.

The GICITC app

The GICITC app is available for Android and iPhone. Install it from Google Play or the App Store (the department publishes the links here) and sign in with the same email and password as on the website. The app shows your courses, events and announcements, and it is used to check in to class.

Very old versions of the app stop working when the website changes. Open Google Play or the App Store and install the latest version of GICITC; your account and your registered phone stay the same.

Attendance and registered phone

Check-in to class works only from one registered phone per account, so that nobody can check in for an absent friend. The first phone on which you sign in to the GICITC app is registered automatically. Your registered phone is shown in My profile.

Sign in to the app on the new phone and send a device change request with a short reason (new phone, lost phone, repair). The administrator reviews the request; once it is approved, you can check in from the new phone.

Check that you are signed in on your registered phone, that your phone has an internet connection, and that you scan the code shown now (it changes every few seconds). If the class uses a location check, allow the app to read your location when you check in. If it still fails, tell your teacher during the class: the teacher can mark you present manually.

No. The location is read only at the moment you check in, and only when the class session uses a location check. Only your distance from the classroom building is stored, never your position or a location history. See the privacy notice.

Courses and materials

Open Courses, choose your course, then the chapter: you find the slides, the lab and the PDF of each chapter, and extra files added by your teacher. Most materials are public; some are only for the students of the course, so sign in to see them. Your own courses are also listed in My dashboard and in the app.

Materials for the students of a course appear only when you are signed in and enrolled in that course for the current term. If you are signed in and still cannot see it, contact your teacher: they can check your enrolment and the visibility of the material.
